Yoga Mat Recommendations

There are so many yoga mats out there, that you might feel a little bit overwhelmed. Ask yourself where do you wanna use your mat. Indoors, outdoors or at home? Then ask yourself what kind of quality your mat should be. Non-slippery, washable, foldable, sustainable... At last but not least, ask yourself how much you wanna spend on it. Here are 4 mats that I use personally and that I recommend.

Recommendation 1: Yoga mat for outdoors

If you practice outdoors, you would want a mat that is easy to carry around, not too heavy and not too sensitive, as it might get dirty. A good choice is the yoga mat by the brand Louts design in 6mm. I use it myself and I like its grip and simplicity. It’s also very reasonably priced. It comes with a little band, that makes it easy to carry around. You can easily clean it with some water/tea tree oil.

Recommendation 2: Yoga mat for the studio

If you don’t want spend the bulk of your day searching the city for the right mat that is good value for money, then check the mat of Bodhi on Amazon. What I appreciate about this mat is that it is made out of natural rubber. So if you are health-conscious, this is definitely something you should take into consideration. It comes in bright bold colors, and weighs 1.6 kg. So, it is natural, good looking and not too heavy to carry to the studio.

Recommendation 3: Yoga mat for travellers

Are you looking for a mat for travelling or don't wanna transport a heavy mat  all around the city when you go the studio after work? Check out the brand Jade. They do some really nice lightweight mats in all kind of colors using natural  material. I presonally prefer  themidnight blue one, because it is to clean and always looks proper. You can also fold it. Sometimes I use it as a cover to put on the mat in the studio, because I feel like a lot of studios don't take it too serious with cleaning their mats.

Recommendation 4: yoga mat for your home practice

At home I use my favorite brand hejhej mats, which is a German start-up producing sustainable yoga mats from recycled mats. They come in two versions  -  light and a grey shade. They give good cushion and are a little bit wider than my other mats, which is actually very nice for pacticing. It is quite heavy, so I wouldn't carry it around in the city but keep it on a dry and safe place.
